Copperweld Canada

Size: 72000 sq. ft.
Completion Date: July 1, 1997

Copperweld Canada needed a new facility in addition to their Woodstock plant. Vicano Construction was contacted in January 1997 and designed the 72,000 square foot pre-engineered steel building. The building is situated on eight acres and faces highway 403.

Vicano was responsible for the complete site work as well as the design and construction of the facility. This was a complex project consisting of 6,000 square feet of office space and the 64,000 square feet of manufacturing space. The design of the facility had to incorporate areas for shipping and receiving in addition to highly specialized equipment of various heights and dimensions. There was close coordination between the Vicano team and the project managers at Copperweld Canada to ensure that the design placed the appropriate equipment in the right spots to ensure efficient manufacturing flow.

The facility also required a galvanized standing seam roof. The construction of the building started mid-March and Copperweld Canada was in the new facility for the beginning of July.
